Trump threatens Europe again
In a talking with the reporters gathered outside White House on Thursday, responding to a question about Tulsi Gabbard’s accusation, US president Donald Trump indicated the responsibility of European allies for taking back and judge their ISIS fighter citizens.
However, his statement was perceived as a threat rather than warning. President Trump said: “We have thousands of ISIS fighters that we want Europe to take, and let’s see if they take them. If they don’t take them, we’ll probably have to release them to Europe” Fox News journalist Aaron Rupar reported a via Twitter.
President Trump previously tweeted on February 17, 2019, and warned the European countries threateningly: “The United States is asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial. The Caliphate is ready to fall. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them.”
After the operation launched on Baghouz, the number of ISIS terrorists captured by Syria Democratis Forces (SDF) increased to approximately ten thousand. There is still uncertainty as to what kind of judicial process will be carried out for ISIL fighters captured in Syria.
