ZERnews – Nowadays, Plant a Trees & Make a City Green campaign has started in the Kurdistan region and the public interest continues with the participation of the President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

US Consul General In Erbil Steve Fagin responded to a challenge from IVLP Alumna and Journalist Niyaz Abdulla to Plant a tree in Erbil. He then challenged his colleague UK Consul General James Thornton and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.

President Nechirvan Barzani also responded to this challenge then said: is that preserving preserving Kurdistan’s environment and planting trees is a moral and patriot duty. I’m happy to be a part of this campaign. Then he challenged two people. First, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani and UN’s Special Representative Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert to be part of this campaign.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani responded challenge and plant an olive tree then he said: “Kurdistan is our big home. Let’s make it even greater and more beautiful.” After that he challenged the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Rewaz Fayaq and the President of the Kurdistan Judicial Council Judge Bangin to attend this challenge. Campaign is expected to continue.
