Gul and Davutoglu opposed to dismissal of HDP (Kurd) mayors

HDP mayors of Diyarbakir, Van, and Mardin metropolitans are dismissed by the enactment passed by the Ministry of Interior of Turkish Republic. 11th President of Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul and former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu criticized the decision and remonstrated the government to ‘return the decision’.

Abdullah Gul posted on Twitter: It is not appropriate for our democracy to dismiss the newly elected mayors ‘in this way’.

Ahmet Davutoglu shared a post on his official twitter account and said: “The dismissal of the mayors of Mardin, Diyarbakir and Van with administrative dispose is a threat to the spirit of democratic system.Elected representatives should be unseated only in tje case of election. It is the basic principle for national will.”

As it is known, Gul and Davutoglu are in dispute with AK Party on many issues and it is spoken they will leave AK Party and form new political parties.
